For the past forty years, the United States government has increasingly passed laws for "the good" of citizens (specific groups in many cases!).
According to C.S. Lewis, "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."
Our government is no longer a republic under elected leaders who care about our best interests. Instead - we are living under TYRANNY!!!

What a great quote. In my work in the public schools I had to deal with the most judgmental people of all: liberals. Public schools are full of people who always feel that they are dealing with people who do not know what is best for themselves. They look down their noses at the children's families. Ever wonder why hollywood celebrities support leftist politicians and leftist agendas? Because they, like the liberals in the public schools and the leftist politicians they support, see the rest of us as herd animals who must be told what to do every minute.
I've come to realize why we are told in the scriptures to give charitably unto every man according to his WANTS. Because if we give charitably to people according to what WE think THEY need, then we become just like those bureaucrats who sit around all day and dream up projects they think the rest of us would benefit from. So I've learned I must give charitably according to others' WANTS.
